New Ottawa store!

CANEX – The retail store for the Canadian Forces and the military community - will celebrate the grand opening of its new Ottawa store at 1030 hrs on March 19, 2010 at 4210 Labelle Street in Ottawa (near the St Laurent Shopping Centre).

The primary role of CANEX (Canadian Forces Exchange System) is to enhance the moral and welfare and operational effectiveness of the Canadian Forces (CF) Community.  CANEX achieves this by managing retail operations comprised of stores and services as well as delivering advantage programs designed specifically to meet the needs of the military community. The majority of the profits earned are invested into local morale and welfare programs and activities to support military communities across Canada. All remaining profits are invested to maintain existing and build new infrastructure such as the Labelle Retail Store.
This new CANEX location will feature a broad selection of brand name products including Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, Apple, LG, Samsung, GE, Cuisinart, Ashley Furniture and much more.  CANEX is also the official retailer of “Support Our Troops” merchandise to the general public.
CANEX Authorized Patrons include: Members of the Regular and Reserve Force and their spouses, retired CF members and their spouses, survivors of deceased members, RCMP, Department of National Defence (DND) employees, spouses, and pensioners, Commissionaires working at DND facilities, qualifying foreign military personnel and finally the staff engaged in the provision of morale and welfare services to members of the CF.
One of the most popular programs that CANEX offers to authorized patrons is the “No Interest Credit Plan”; a flexible no-interest payment plan that features no money down – not even the taxes.  CANEX also offers many other benefits such as the Club “XTra” Loyalty Program, Home Heating Oil Discount Program and home and auto insurance through The Personal Insurance Company of Canada.
The Grand Opening celebrations will include more than just exceptional deals and promotions.  The festivities will be highlighted by the presence of the the Chief Military Personnel, Major-General Walter Semianiw who will officially mark the opening of the only CANEX Retail Outlet in the NCR.
